Kai Schäfer: WORLDRECORDS

The photo series WORLDRECORDS by German photographer Kai Schäfer celebrates some of the very best and most distinctive albums in music history, each one beautifully captured on an iconic turntable.

HENI Gallery is exhibiting 46 works from the series which include classic records such as Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Serge Gainsbourg’s Initials B.B., The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Michael Jackson’s Thriller on turntables by Rek-O-Kut, Dual, Technics and Bang & Olufsen.

Featuring albums such as David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures, Kraftwerk’s Tour de France, Miles Davis’s A Kind of Blue, Prince’s Purple Rain and The Clash’s London Calling, the photographic series is a visually sumptuous homage to music, art and design.
